Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to install a driver before using my Tribeca USB drive, hard drive, or media reader?
If you are using Windows 2000, XP, Vista, or Windows 7, or Mac OS 9.0, X, or later, you should not need a driver to use your Tribeca product. If you plug in your Tribeca product on one of these systems and it's not working, please review our FAQ for troubleshooting tips or contact us for support.
Some Tribeca media products are compatible with Windows 98 SE. Please visit our Downloads page for a list of available drivers.
Tribeca media products are generally compatible with Linux kernel 2.4.0 and later. If you are experiencing difficulty using your Tribeca product on a Linux system, please contact the publisher of your Linux distribution for assistance with USB mass storage drivers.

  1. The model of your Tribeca product (e.g., Splash USB Drive, Spirit Stick USB Drive, Breathe Sleeve
  2. If a USB drive or hard drive, the capacity (e.g., 1GB, 2GB, 250GB)
  3. If a USB drive, the production code (if any) stamped on the silver USB connector (generally 6 to 10 characters and might look like "PTUMB07"
  4. The operating system on your computer, if applicable (e.g., Windows XP Service Pack 2, Mac OS X 10.5.4)
  5. A complete description of the issue you're encountering, including the exact text of any error message that you're getting from your computer.
